As a part of our Active and Healthy Living Programme the SGPS has partnered up with GoodLife to provide our members with discounted rates to join the GoodLife gym. When you join, you are also eligible to have a partner join as well!

The Details

Each membership package begins on the 15th of every month. Your cheque and information is due to the SGPS office (in person or via mail) by the last week of the month prior to your start date. For example, if you were to start Oct 15th you must have the required documents in by the last week of September (no exceptions!).

What information to do I need to give the SGPS?

You need to provide us with your full name, preferred email address, student number, and your cheque. If you are also purchasing a membership for your partner you must provide the same information and proof of shared address.

Who do I make the cheque out to?

Please make your cheques out to The Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS). If you bring your cheque to the office, we can stamp it for you.

How do I receive my GoodLife gym pass?

On your membership start date you can go to your club location and pick up your membership key tag. There you will be asked to fill out a form upon receiving your gym pass.

What if I'm already a GoodLife member but want to cancel my membership to take advantage of the SGPS programme?

It's easy! Simply fill out the cancelation form found here and bring it in to the SGPS office or email it to athletics@sgps.ca. Then proceed to follow the instructions for new members.

What If I have already taken advantage of the SGPS/GoodLife partnership and want to renew my membership?

Simply bring in your cheque, provide your student number, membership card number, full name and you can continue to take advantage of this service.

Where Can I use my GoodLife Membership?

Once you have the keytag you membership is good at most locations across Canada. Like any Goodlife membership you have access to almost all of their gyms. That way you won't miss any workouts when conferencing, on placement, or if you move.

Can I purchase a month membership?

Unfortunately, no. You can only purchase memberships following the purchasing schedule outlined above.

What if I lost my SGPS/GoodLife membership key tag?

You request a new card at your club location. You will most likely have to pay a replacement fee. Ask your club for details.

What if I have graduated?

You are eligible to extend your SGPS discounted GoodLife membership for one year after graduation.

I have purchased an "in between" or single month membership from Goodlife while waiting for my SGPS/Goodlife membership to start, how do I cancel it?

It is your responsibility to cancel any single month or "in between" memberships. You must go to the place of purchase and talk to the manager who sold you the "in between" membership. The SGPS bares no responsibility for the purchasing or canceling of such memberships.

I do not want my SGPS/ Goodlife membership anymore. Can I cancel it and get a refund?

No. All SGPS/ Goodlife memberships are final sale. There is only ONE exception, which is for medical purposes. You must provide the SGPS and Goodlife with proper medical documentation from a doctor stating you cannot use the gym facilities anymore. There are no other exceptions.
