Open Positions for the Election

President

The President is the senior representative and official spokesperson of the SGPS. The President represents the SGPS to the Board of Trustees, the University Senate, the School of Graduate Studies, and to other officials and bodies both on and off campus.

VP Campaigns and Community Affairs

The Vice President Campaigns and Community Affairs (VPCCA) is responsible for representing and communicating the interests of the members of the SGPS at meetings of the external student associations of which the SGPS is a member and generally promoting the interests of SGPS members by making representations to people and organizations external to the University.

VP Finance and Services

The Vice President Finance and Services (VPFS) is responsible for (with a great deal of assistance from the Executive Director): administrating the SGPS' finances and accounts, setting the annual SGPS budget, arranging for a yearly audit, supervising all financial transactions, coordinating and planning the services of the SGPS and administering the SGPS health and dental plan.

VP Graduate

The Vice President Graduate (VPG) advocates on behalf of graduate students in areas of academic and non-academic policy which affect the lives of graduate students at Queen's University, including funding policies, academic supervision and guidelines, research policy, and policies affecting TAs, RAs, and Teaching Fellows. The VPG is also responsible for the Student Advisor program.

VP Professional

The Vice President Professional (VPP) is responsible for representing the SGPS in matters specific to professional students, ensuring that the SGPS as a whole is represented in university affairs at Queen's by making representations to people and organizations internal to the University and for hiring, dismissing, supervising and evaluating SGPS employees (jointly with the Executive Director).
