What Is SGPS Council?
The SGPS Council is the body that governs the SGPS Executive, and the Appointees of Council. That simplifies to saying that the SGPS Council has the ultimate control of the actions of the SGPS Executive and Appointees of Council. The only body with higher authority is the entire membership of the SGPS, which can have its voice heard at the Annual General Meeting, or through referendum.
The SGPS Council meets on a monthly basis to ensure that all departments are made aware of the goings on of the Executive, as well as to provide an opportunity for departments to raise concerns to the greater SGPS body. Additionally, Council is responsible for approving changes to Bylaws and Policies, as well as approving the SGPS Budget.
