The SGPS and the Queen's community is grieving the loss of Leslie Doucet, a friend, colleague and graduate student in Global Development Studies. Since receiving a BAH in Sociology, Leslie was active on campus as a dedicated social activist, committed teaching assistant, research assistant, workshop facilitator and an essential organizer with the faculty-student mentorship program for self-identified racialized students. All those who had an opportunity of working and socializing with Leslie remember her as a passionate, articulate and tireless individual who championed the rights of the marginalized on and off campus. The SGPS offers its condolences to Leslie's children, Chance and Trinity, and all those who were touched by her remarkable life. A memorial service will be held for Leslie on 22 October 2009 at 5pm in the Wallace Hall.
